Lagos takes delivery of trains for Red Line rail system

The Lagos State Government has taken conveyance of new trains from Milwaukee, US, for its Redline rail project, a 37-kilometer intracity rail line framework.

The state’s Magistrate for Data and Technique, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, revealed this on Tuesday, September 27.

Omotosho said the conveyance was in accordance with the public authority’s assurance to convey the activity of the Red Line Rail Framework by the primary quarter of 2023.

Omotoso said: “Talgo Series 8 Trains, the 2 Nos. Ten and Eleven Vehicle trains which were purchased from Milwaukee are here.”He made sense of that it was important to decouple the train into 21 individual vehicles for viable transportation to Lagos, adding that the trains will be recoupled with the assistance of moving stock Specialists from Talgo, the organization that fabricated the trains in the Unified Province of America.

He added: “The Designers will likewise make a move to prepare our nearby Specialists while they are here to outfit our youngsters with the essential abilities. When the recoupling is finished, the testing and appointing will begin followed by full traveler tasks in the primary quarter of 2023.

“Each train can convey 1500 travelers and is supposed to run on the Red Line Rail from Agbado to Oyingbo, with the excursion taking under 30 minutes.”
