Breaking News: Queen Elizabeth II, the UK’s longest-serving monarch, has died at Balmoral aged 96, after reigning for 70 years

Her family assembled at her Scottish domain after worries developed about her wellbeing before on Thursday.

The Queen came to the privileged position in 1952 and saw tremendous social change.

With her passing, her oldest child Charles, the previous Prince of Wales, will lead the nation in grieving as the new King and head of state for 14 Commonwealth domains.

In an explanation, Buckingham Palace said: “The Queen passed on calmly at Balmoral this evening.

“The King and the Queen Consort will stay at Balmoral tonight and will get back to London tomorrow.”

Every one of the Queen’s youngsters ventured out to Balmoral, close to Aberdeen, after specialists set the Queen under clinical watch.

Her grandson, Prince William, is likewise there, with his sibling, Prince Harry, on his way.
